2026 Schedule Announced for the 32nd Annual for SAFILM-San Antonio Film Festival
2026 Schedule July 21-26
Back for year 32! SAFILM-San Antonio Film Festival returns for the annual 6-day celebration of cinema, July 21-26, 2026, expanding this year’s program and audience with even more screening locations throughout Alamo City. All-Access VIP and Festival passes are now available for purchase, exclusively at SAFILM.com, with pre-sale tickets for individual movies and film blocks dropping online this week. Tickets will also be available at all screening locations during the official SAFILM fest week.
Opening Tuesday, July 21st and running through Sunday, July 26th, over 200+ official SAFILM selected films will premiere across FIVE official screens in San Antonio, including the main festival HQ at Radius Center (106 Auditorium Cir #120); Tobin Center for the Performing Arts (100 Auditorium Cir); City Base Cinema (2623 SE Military Dr.); along with the newly-opened Gunter Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk (311 N St Mary’s St); and The Rock at La Cantera (1 Spurs Way).
SUMMER SCREENING SERIES @ THE ROCK
As part of the 32nd annual celebration, SAFILM hosts a FREE Summer Screening Series Cinema & Sips taking place every Thursday throughout the month of July at The Rock at La Cantera.

Every Thursday’s event will showcase a curated block of SAFILM short films from 7 PM – 8 PM, spotlighting independent filmmakers and emerging voices in cinema, followed by an outdoor feature film screening at 8 PM, including:

All screenings are free and open to the public.

Kicking off SAFILM’s Opening Day festivities is the returning San Antonio Film Commission Coffee Talk Mixer from 3pm – 5pm with Special Guests from the Texas Film Commission. This now-annual pre-festival mixer is FREE and open to the public. Sponsored by the San Antonio Film Commission.

Immediately following the Coffee Talk Mixer is SAFILM’s daily Filmmaker’s VIP Lounge hosting complimentary drinks and eats every day during SAFILM from 5-7pm, exclusively for passholders, VIPS, sponsors, Industry panelists and honored guests.
Opening Night films will screen at 7pm and 9pm SHARP at Radius Center – starting with the U.S. Premiere of VALLEY OF THE HORNTAK, directed by Maxwell Morro – in attendance – alongside cast: Kathleen Kinmont, Michael Kehoe, William Mann, Nicole Gellman, and Gracie Huff; and crew: Erik Weed (Writer), Dan McMellen (Producer) and Derrick Huff (Producer). PLOT: The secret cult known as the Rite of Cycle summons Julian to return to the community he fled from in search of a missing boy, whose disappearance threatens the life of his adult son, Thomas. What begins as a rescue mission quickly descends into a psychological nightmare. As Thomas uncovers the horrific mystery within his bloodline, he is forced to confront the cult’s twisted philosophy and darkness festering in his own lineage.

PLOT: Set in suburban NY in 1984, Julie Gornick hosts a charismatic larger than life Spanish exchange student. As he starts hooking up with girls in her class, Julie falls in love with him. Or what she thinks is love.
