This Iconic Steakhouse, The Barn Door, Prepares to Close Its Doors

Final Day of Service for This Iconic Steakhouse Set for Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026

After more than seven decades serving the community, The Barn Door, one of San Antonio’s most iconic steakhouses, has announced it will close its doors. The restaurant’s final day of service will be Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026.

Since opening in 1953, The Barn Door has been a cornerstone of the local dining scene, known for its classic steakhouse experience, welcoming atmosphere, and deep-rooted connection to generations of San Antonio families.

Over the decades, the restaurant has built a loyal following, becoming a place where traditions were formed and passed down through generations. From family dinners to special occasions, The Barn Door has remained a constant in a rapidly changing city.

In the weeks leading up to its closing, The Barn Door is inviting the community to visit one last time, enjoy its signature menu, and celebrate the legacy of a San Antonio institution.

Beginning Friday, May 1, the restaurant will move to a limited, reservation-only schedule. Hours will be Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The restaurant’s final day of service will be Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026,  from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Reservations can be made at https://www.thebarndoorrestaurant.com/reservations.
