SA Food Bank Agricultural Efforts
What sets this event apart is the direct connection to the San Antonio Food Bank’s own agricultural efforts. The Food Bank cultivates 25 acres across three unique sections at its main facility and an additional 50 acres at the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, a World Heritage site. These farms produce a variety of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables that are distributed to families in need across Southwest Texas. Now, these same nutrient-rich crops are making their way into the kitchens of participating restaurants for a limited-time culinary experience.
Restaurants Use Produce From Food Bank’s Farms
Each participating restaurant has crafted a signature dish featuring produce grown on the Food Bank’s farms, highlighting their unique culinary style while showcasing the flavors of fresh, local ingredients. This initiative not only celebrates local cuisine but also shines a spotlight on the Food Bank’s innovative, sustainable approach to addressing food insecurity at its root.

“The San Antonio Food Bank Restaurant Weeks campaign is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our partnerships with local restaurants, bars, and eateries. Their support and your participation will directly help ensure that no child goes without a meal this summer. With the continued backing of our community, we can work together to bridge the 20 million meal gap and provide children with the opportunity for a brighter future,” says Eric Cooper, President & CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank.

Proceeds From Featured Dish Benefit Summer Meals for Kids
Proceeds from each featured dish will directly benefit the Food Bank’s Summer Meals for Kids campaign, a critical program designed to bridge the 20 million meal gap children face during summer break, providing vital nutrition for youth who may otherwise go without. Each establishment has committed to raising at least $500 through the event, with every $1 raised equating to seven meals for local children.
