Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, by Valencia Hotel Collection, is hosting an evening of Rye and Cigars by the River Walk on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6-9 p.m. Taking place on the hotel’s scenic terrace overlooking the San Antonio River Walk, the exclusive event will offer Still Austin Rye cocktails paired with a chef-crafted menu featuring dishes such as Akaushi Smoked Tri Tip and Oysters Kennedy. Guests are invited to relax with a hand-selected house cigar, all while enjoying the ambiance of the picturesque outdoor terrace adjacent to the San Antonio River Walk.
About Still Austin Distillery
Still Austin Distillery is one of the only whiskey distilleries in Texas that sources grains from local farmers and ages their whiskeys in the Texas Hill Country. The distillery, based in Austin, began distilling whiskey in 2017. The primary grains they use for their whiskeys are non-GMO white corn, brasetto rye and wildfire malted barley grown in North and West Texas. Due to the often-dramatic weather swings that characterize Texas, Still Austin’s whiskeys take on many more complex characteristics more quickly than whiskey distilled in other regions, due to the whiskeys’ frequent expansion and contraction in the aging barrels.
