This Saturday Final School Discovery Day at Hemisfair + New ‘One on One’ Consultations
This Saturday, March 1st, from 11AM – 2PM, San Antonio Charter Moms will host the final School Discovery Day event of the series for area choice schools. There is still time for families to connect with 40 + local schools before enrollment season comes to a close. This year, SACM will take over Yanaguana Gardens with a larger than ever footprint for this event (see map of the event here).
During the event, SACM will offer FREE demo sessions of their NEW one-on-one school search consultations, which will provide a space to assist families affected by recent school closures quickly. Consultations will allow caregivers to meet with school search specialists, communicate their needs, and quickly focus on potential top school matches. Consultations are not limited to families affected by school closures and will be provided on a first come first served basis with an experienced mentor with specialized knowledge about school options in the San Antonio area.
While San Antonio’s varied and growing education landscape makes finding that perfect fit for every student more attainable than ever, local parents may be overwhelmed with options, from neighborhood public schools to charters, magnets, online providers, and homeschooling resources, the journey to finding the best local schools can be a daunting task. Thankfully, the nonprofit San Antonio Charter Moms (SACM) exists to help parents and caregivers navigate the overwhelming options, and there’s hardly a better place to dive in than the organization’s increasingly popular, free School Discovery Day series. Considered the leading local school search authority on all learning models, SACM provides easy access to extensive, unbiased school resources including online discussion groups, informative articles and videos, and enrollment guides. The annual, in-person School Discovery Days gather representatives of more than 40 school networks to answer questions about what learning models they offer, what makes their school unique, how to schedule a visit, and how to apply for enrollment. SACM staff are on hand to advise on how to conduct a school search, the school search timeline, and finding schools for unique learners. Participating schools range from charter schools to PreK4SA campuses to private schools and homeschooling consultants and include truly innovative options like the Will Smith Zoo School and more.
