This Exciting Culinary Tour, Holi-dine, Takes Place Along San Antonio’s Dazzling River Walk

The River Walk Culinary Adventure Tours, Holi-dine is back this year with two progressive culinary tours. The tour is led by the River Walk’s dedicated food and drink writer of Rio Magazine, Kimberly Suta.

Both tours, one on November 26 (Saturday after Thanksgiving) and one on December 15, feature the same destinations and menu options. Guests embark on a walking adventure tour from the new Crockett Tavern at the historic Crockett Hotel for cocktails and appetizers before hopping on the dazzling River Walk, adorned with thousands of holiday lights, as they make their way to the popular Boudro’s Texas Bistro for the main course.

Finally, guests get to choose from dozens of dessert options from premium candy shop, Kilwins, which range from the best craft hot chocolate in town to caramel apples, truffles, ice cream in freshly-made waffle cones and more!

Appetizers (all): Pork Tenderloin Medallions with Apple Chutney and Chicken Mole Tostada

Next, we hop on the River Walk to make our way to dinner and enjoy the thousands of Christmas lights that light up the river!

2nd Stop: Main Course at Boudro’s Texas Bistro (Entrées Individually Plated)

Get ready for a delicious dinner at one of my favorite dining spots on the River. Boudro’s has been a staple for decades for its exceptional South Texas cuisine and vivacious atmosphere.

Texas Filet, Fire fries, fried jalapeños and plantains with chimichurri sauce) or House-Smoked Jumbo Shrimp & Gulf Crab Enchiladas (wrapped in spicy tomato pancakes, ancho chili sauce, queso fresco and crème fraiche, black beans and pecan rice pilaf) or Pollo Asada (Grilled Airline Chicken Breast marinated with adobo de achiote, citrus juices, olive oil grilled over Mesquite and Oak, served with caramelized corn, black beans and pineapple pico).

3rd Stop: Dessert at Kilwins Chocolate Shop

We cap off the tour with a final stop at one of San Antonio’s finest chocolate shops, located just off the River Walk in Alamo Plaza, a few minutes walk from the Alamo. This confectionary is known for their handmade hot chocolate, truffles, ice cream and so much more!

Dessert Includes: Choose Your Own Dessert! After a short introduction from the owner about the history and Kilwins confectionary favorites, you’ll be set free to explore all the exciting options and share some sweets with your Valentine!

At this point, the tour is concluded.
