Southside Destination Diner to Open Two New Locations in San Antonio Soon
Greg and Ana Ferris, the owners of this revered southside cafe, Bobbie’s Cafe and Pie Bar, have shared some wonderful news with San Antonio. Their destination diner on the near Southside, known for their scrumptious, larger-than-life scratch-made fare, are happy to announce their plans to open two new Bobbie’s Cafe locations in San Antonio.
The couple, fourth generation owners of the iconic mom-and-pop restaurant, have really put Bobbie’s on the map, building on the legacy the family created when they first opened Bobbie’s Cafe in 1972. Now, the family is excited to expand that legacy as they prepare to open up two new restaurants.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to be able to continue to serve our South Texas comfort food to San Antonio, and hopefully feed folks we’ve never had a chance to before,” says Chef Ferris.
Bobbie’s will be relocating from their current and original location on S. Flores to a nearby location on the Southside at 1922 Goliad Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78223, offering double the space and allowing them to continue to serve their loyal fans in the neighborhood.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are left with no choice but to leave our cherished Southside location at 6728 S. Flores, which has been our home for 38 wonderful years. This decision was incredibly difficult, and we deeply regret any inconvenience it may cause our loyal patrons,” says Chef Ferris. “However, the good news is we have already secured a new location. There will be a temporary gap in service on the Southside, but rest assured, it won’t be long!”
Next, Bobbie’s will be expanding with a second location on the Northside at Embassy Oaks Shopping Center, which was previously home to the original Magnolia Pancake Haus. The new 5,300 square foot location at 606 Embassy Oaks, San Antonio, TX 78216 promises to bring Bobbie’s beloved culinary experience to a new and vibrant area, and the family can’t wait to welcome everyone.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication over the years. Our Southside community has been essential to our success, and we wouldn’t be where we are without all of you!” says Ana Ferris.
