San Antonio Steakhouse Restaurant Staple Celebrates 60 Years in the Alamo City
San Antonio Steakhouse, Little Red Barn, located at 1836 South Hackberry, is celebrating 60 years of serving San Antonians delicious steakhouse fare with a prix-fixe dinner for two on Saturday, September 2nd & Sunday, September 3rd, 2023.
Known for their large portions of classic eats, quaint farmhouse decor, & cowgirl clad waitstaff, Little Red Barn has been a must stop for generations of San Antonians & visitors alike. This family-owned business was founded by Ralph and Lili Hernandez and opened its doors on Labor Day way back in 1963 after it was transformed from an old meat market.
From the humble beginnings of having only 8 tables, the restaurant grew to accommodate over 800 guests at their large family-style picnic tables. Texas pride runs deep at the eatery which is evident by the dozens of cattle brands from local ranchers that adorn the walls. Currently, the restaurant is operated by the second generation of the Hernandez family, Marissa Garcia and Nancy Hernandez, who both grew up waiting tables at the restaurant & hope to pass on the family business to the third generation.
“It is an honor for our family to carry on Mom and Dad’s legacy. We look forward to continuing to serve our San Antonio community for many more years to come,” says Marissa Garcia.
The family is inviting guests to celebrate their 60th anniversary with them on Saturday, September 2nd & Sunday, September, 3rd with an amazing dining deal. Little Red Barn is offering a two for $60 prix fixe dinner that includes their famous steak options as well as a dessert to share. Diners can choose from an 18oz Sirloin, 8oz Ribeye, or a Steak & Shrimp combo along with one side option and house salad, topped with their made-from-scratch salad dressing. For dessert, guests can enjoy either a slice of creamy Cheesecake or Apple Pie A La Mode to complete their meal. Non-alcoholic beverages are also included in the price. Dining for the Anniversary dinner will be on a first come first serve basis with no reservations required.
