JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is serving up a refreshing way to give back this summer! On Wednesday, August 6, the resort will host a Root Beer Float Social to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Guests and locals alike are invited to enjoy classic root beer floats in the main resort lobby for a small donation, with 100% of proceeds supporting pediatric care for local kids in need. It’s a sweet treat for a powerful cause and a fun, family-friendly way to make a difference!
National Root Beer Float Day is August 6, 2025. This day holds a special place for Marriott. Founders J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott launched their 9-seat A&W Root Beer stand in Washington, D.C. to cool off from the summer heat. From there, the Marriott family expanded their business into what we know today as a leader in the hospitality industry.
To honor their history and legacy, Marriott properties will host Root Beer Float socials during the month of August to benefit local member hospitals of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Marriott has been a supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals from the very beginning as their first corporate partner in 1983 and raising over $165M in their over 40 year partnership. Funds raised go to the local member hospital ensuring kids in that community receive the best possible care.
