URBAN-15 Revives a Popular fundraiser for SA River Walk Event, “Floating Feastival” on Sept. 27th!
| URBAN-15, the long-standing arts focused nonprofit, invites the city to “float, feast and feel the rhythm on the San Antonio River Walk,” during their upcoming Floating Feastival, a progressive barge dining culinary event, which is set to embark on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
“It’s just a really fun party while cruising down the river and being served great food and drinks on the barge by famed River Walk restaurants,” says Judith York, co-chair of the event and URBAN-15 board member.
Floating Feastival, which first launched in 1982, was once an exceptionally popular fundraiser for Arts San Antonio. After closing down before the pandemic hit, they gifted the program to URBAN-15, whose members are thrilled to reintroduce it to San Antonio.
This year’s Floating Feastival is a brilliant combination of both the culinary and performance arts as you relax and float along the iconic San Antonio River Walk. Not only will local hot spots, Acenar, Range and Hotel Valencia, be providing refreshing libations and scrumptious cuisine but, for the first time ever, guests will be entertained at stops along the way with live music and dance. “We want to bring this event back for people’s enjoyment and to introduce URBAN-15, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, to a wider audience,” says Leslie Provence, co-chair of the event and URBAN-15 board member. “In the past, mostly businesses purchased the tickets for their employees and clients, and still are, but we’re so happy that individuals in the community can also experience this event while supporting vital arts programs.”
