Original Vision of the Classic “Dad Bar” Reopens with Updated Drinks

Original Vision

Original Vision of this Classic Dad Bar, Three Star Bar, is in Tack and Set to Reopen

After a brief pause to reset the bar, Three Star Bar on East Grayson reopens. With Jeret Pena’s original vision of the classic “Dad Bar” in tack, Three Star Bar opens its doors with a few updates to cocktail and beer menu, a familiar bartender as the new General Manager and a fun collaboration with a local chef.

After running bars at Esquire Tavern and Double Standard, guests can now find celebrated bartender Myles Worrell as Three Star Bar’s new General Manager. Myles brings his operational knowledge and love for classic cocktails to add a little shine to the bar’s layback and approachable vibe. The bar will not only continue to attract members of San Antonio’s industry but will draw guests to make Three Star Bar their home for happy hours, celebrations and the good ol’ nightcap.

Original Vision

“We are absolutely thrilled to be in this amazing city and getting the chance to run a great neighborhood bar with a stellar crew. We are so excited to throw some awesome parties and just be an all around great place to shoot some pool, down some cold snacks and rock some Thin Lizzy in the backyard. Crawfish boils, cookouts and good times are coming!” – Steven Robbins, Director of Operations, Pouring With Heart

In the coming weeks, guests will find a new round of offerings coming out of the kitchen. The team has partnered with Chef Richard Busker of Righteous Pie to create a bar menu including items like loaded fries covered with smoked beef, flatbreads, a southern fried tofu sammy and “Beef and Seeds.” A dish inspired by the chef’s childhood will feature thin strips of wood smoked beef with Chinese hot mustard and dredged through sesame seeds. The kitchen will be open late so that industry can grab a bite after their shift. In the meantime, guests can enjoy many pizza offerings from Righteous Pie, named one of the best pizzas in San Antonio.

Now that Three Star Bar is opened, the team at Pouring With Heart is looking towards growing within San Antonio’s city limits and being a part of the community.
