Interesting New Spirits to Add a Fresh Surprise to Valentine’s Day Cocktails
These interesting new Spirits add a different twist to cocktails for your Valentine’s Day parties. These amazing spirits come from far off places like a Vodka from the mountains and rivers of New Zealand, a Mezcal from the heart of the indigenous Zapotec region near Oaxaca City, Mexico and a Bacanora from Sonora in the foothills of the Sierra Madres in northern Mexico.
Broken Shed Vodka is best described as a crisp, clean and smooth vodka ending with a warm finish. This vodka has only 3 ingredients and two of them are water. Yes, you read that right, two different waters: one which is naturally-filtered through rock from an ancient South Island aquifer, the other, pure spring water from the North Island. Because the waters are different, each one brings elements that make Broken Shed so refreshingly unique. Pristine waters from a pristine environment. These two pure waters are combined with the third ingredient, whey, after it goes through three distillations. Find or buy now.
Broken Shed Vodka, 40% ABV, Distilled from Whey. No additives, sweeteners or GMOs and gluten-free from start to finish.

Artisenal Zomoz Mezcal is both owned and operated in Mexico where every aspect of this spirit is made and supervised by Mexican eyes, hands and hearts. After roasting the Espadín agave in underground ovens, the agave hearts, called “pinas,” are crushed then fermented in open pine vats.
To achieve the pure, smooth ZOMOZ finish, the Mezcal is distilled twice in traditional copper pot stills then passed through a proprietary double filtration system before being bottled.
This 100% organic Mezcal is made from only two ingredients, Espadín agave and pure spring water. Being committed to protecting our planet, they make sure their product is compliant with environmental and health guidelines, allowing them to obtain U.S Organic certification. Zomaz honors the traditions of Oaxaca and its intimate, spiritual relationship with Mezcal.
Zomoz Mezcal is 100% Mexican owned, is 40% ABV, and is 100% organic.

Kilinga Bacanora, NOT TEQUILA. NOT MEZCAL. A BACANORA Unlike Anything Else.
Born in northeast Sonora, where the mountains meet the sea, it has been outlawed for most of its existence. But this spirit could not be held down. In fact, the inability to mass-produce the spirit only kindled it’s unique, individualistic character.
Three ingredients make this spirit: water sourced from filtered rainwater pumped from hand dug wells, imparting a mineral content and flavor found nowhere else on earth. Agave cooked then slow roasted to perfection over the course of four days. Once the agave is ready, it’s quartered and ground in their stone mill. They ferment the agave pulp with cultured yeast, transforming the mixture into Bacanora.
Finally, it is double distilled for crystalline purity then allowed to rest until they are sure that it’s perfect.
Kilinga Bacanora is the first of its kind to be the first officially designated by the Consejo Sonorense Regulador del Bacanora available in the United States. And they are the second brand in Mexico to have the authentic Bacanora designation.
Kilinga Bacanora has four award winning expressions:
Kilinga Silvestre
Agave Angustifolia Haw, Wild 7-8 Years. Young, green agave plants give Silvestre the lightness of a springtime bouquet.
