Culinaria SA Takes on Yet Another Endeavor in the Food and Beverage Industry
Culinaria SA is committed to promoting San Antonio as a premier food and wine destination, while fostering community growth and enrichment within the city they call home. For the past 21 years, they have been promoting locally sourced food and wine experiences in the San Antonio region through community events and culinary education opportunities. These include Restaurant Weeks, a 5K run, a Wine and Food Festival, plus many other premiere food + drink go-to for events and openings including their very popular Women & Whiskey series.
Now Culinaria and Bending Branch 1840 have teamed up to produce a truly delicious award-winning bourbon, the Bending Branch 1840 Culinaria Private Barrel Bourbon Blend. To create the blend, Bending Branch 1840 Master Blender Alison Young selected six barrels of bourbon with the same mash bill. Three of the barrels that she selected contained bourbon distilled from a sweet mash, and three of the barrels had bourbon distilled from a sour mash.
The Culinaria team tasted and tested from the six Bending Branch barrels to select three that would make up the Bending Branch 1840 Culinaria Private Barrel Bourbon Blend. It appears that the team had a pretty good tasting palate. Their selection won Double Platinum in the ASCOT Awards (American Spirits Council of Tasters).
The tasting notes from the American Spirits Council of Tasters say, “A gorgeous sweet baked blackberry aroma turns to a toasted chestnut and floral palate with a proper pop of alcohol that does not overpower the complexity. Nicely done.”
