Dual Cask Gin from the Filibuster Distillery

A gin which reminisces the past. Crafted in a style of the 18th-century bathtub gin, their gin is accented with their proprietary combination of botanicals. Aged in French Oak barrels and bottled at 90 proof, you’ll discover flavors and fragrances not found in other barrel-aged gins.

135° East Hydro Gin – A Japanese Artisan Gin

Our gin draws its name from the 135o meridian east which crosses Akashi City in the Hyogo prefecture – the home of our Kaikyo Distillery. The meridian line perfectly represents our passion for discovering what lies beyond its borders. Inspired by the Taisho period, our Hyogo Style Gin plays on a time when eastern culture merged with western customs. This is expertly reflected in our ingredients as they enhance and complement each other. Traditional London Dry Gin botanicals mingle with Japanese botanicals. Expertly weaved together, the botanicals of 135o EAST Gin awaken the senses by stimulating the unexpected.

Bee’s Knees

To make one glass:

3oz Fresh Victor Lemon Sour

1.5oz Gin

1oz 1:1 raw honey syrup*

Garnish: lemon twist
Glass: cocktail

* heat water and add an equal amount of hot water, by volume, to the amount of honey you have. Stir until dissolved and store in the refrigerator.

Shaker Method

In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients, fill the shaker with ice, shake well (to chill and dilute) and strain up in a 7-9oz cocktail glass. Add garnish and serve.

Build Method

In a glass full of ice, add all ingredients, plus 1.5 ounces of water (for dilution), stir gently, strain into a cocktail glass, garnish and serve

Non-Alcoholic Version

In a cocktail shaker, add all ingredients, increasing the non-alcoholic components to account for the loss of liquid volume by the elimination of the alcohol. Fill the shaker with ice, shake well (to chill and dilute) and strain up in a cocktail  glass. Add garnish and serve.

Mixologist’s Notes:

Fresh Victor Lemon Sour was designed slightly more sour than our other mixers in order to allow for the addition of liqueurs and syrups that will bring more flavor complexity to the drink, so 1oz of 1:1 honey syrup balances nicely in this recipe. If you find it too sweet, simply cut back the amount of honey syrup you use. We recommend using raw honey and paying the premium for good local brands, as that is what really helps support the survival of honey bees, (plus, raw honey has much more flavor and aroma).

3oz Fresh Victor Cucumber & Lime

1.5oz gin

(For a Cucumber Collins substitute Soda for Tonic)
