Bar Opens for Monday Night Football and Extends Hours to Host Watch Parties All Season Long
The Savoy, a legendary neighborhood bar in the heart of Houston’s Third Ward, is opening their doors on Mondays for the first time ever to host Monday Night Football Watch Parties! Starting Monday, September 11, 2023, The Savoy will kick off a full season of epic watch parties and game day food and drink specials, with four new flavors of wings just for football season!

Doors will open at 4pm on September 11 to welcome fans to The Savoy’s first Monday Night Football Watch Party as Aaron Rodgers makes his New York Jets debut against AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills.
The iconic bar and restaurant will be offering specials on food and drinks for Monday Night Football, NFL Thursdays, and College Football Saturdays, including a “Touchdown Combo” featuring Happy Hour Sliders (beef or chicken) and draft beer for just $7, available on all game days all season long!
The Savoy is also adding four new Wings flavors to their fall lineup! The deliciously addictive Fried Wings are served naked or tossed in a choice of homemade sauces. This season, fans can indulge in new house-made Honey garlic, Spicy Asian BBQ, Mango Habanero, and Caribbean Jerk flavors!
The Savoy, located at 4402 Emancipation Ave., became a Third Ward hot spot for college basketball watch parties during the NCAA “March Madness” tournament, with collegiate-themed draft and frozen drink specials, DJs, giveaways, and plenty of TVs indoors and out, on one of biggest and best covered patios in town with booth and high-top table seating for up to 250 fans!
That exciting game day vibe will carry over throughout football season with beer bucket specials for College Football Saturdays and special pricing on some of the best watch party food around including Sliders, the house specialty with slow roasted lamb grilled and topped with melted cheese and fresh Chipotle mayo, Quesadillas, Wings, Burgers, Fried Shrimp, and more, with late-night kitchen hours until 2am on weekends, and midnight on weekdays!
The historic Savoy was built as a neighborhood bar in 1940 and became a popular gathering spot for the African American community. Since 1940, it has only had three owners, the third of which is Black and Long Enterprises, who purchased it in 2019, did a full-scale renovation, and launched in the fall of 2021.
Over the last two years, The Savoy has evolved from a trendy neighborhood bar with a food truck to one of the best gathering spots in the Third Ward for hand-crafted signature cocktails, frozen specialties, Mega Drink Towers, and an amazing menu of elevated scratch-made dishes from Lamb Chops broiled on an open flame to Grilled Lobster N Mac!
With the addition of Monday Night Football watch parties, The Savoy will be open from 4pm-12am Monday-Wednesday, 4pm-2am Thursday and Friday, and 11am-2am Saturday and Sunday. Fans are encouraged to wear their team colors and take advantage of Football Watch Party specials on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the historic Third Ward bar and restaurant all season long!
