Celebrate the Opening of Night of Artists at this Western Museum this Weekend
This Weekend the Briscoe will Celebrate the Opening of 2024 Night of Artists. 10 Vaqueros on Horseback will greet attendees on downtown’s Market Street – Saturday, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
WHAT:
One of the premier Western art events in the world, Night of Artists includes the viewing and sale of over 285 new works of painting, sculpture and mixed media by more than 85 of today’s leading contemporary Western artists, drawing artists, collectors and enthusiasts from around the country to San Antonio The Briscoe Western Art Museum 2024 Night of Artists Exhibition and Art Sale includes two days of events, featuring a live auction, awards breakfast, artist demonstrations and talks, and an art sale.
Saturday’s “Luck of the Draw” Sale kicks off with 10 vaqueros on horseback from sponsor Wyatt Ranches, greeting guests at the museum’s historic entrance on Market Street. Guests will pass through the riders – proudly posting the United States, Texas, Briscoe, Night of Artists and Wyatt Ranches flags – to start the event in true Western style.
Opening Sunday, the public exhibition is a unique opportunity to see a fantastic array of the best of today’s contemporary Western art. The event and exhibition serve as a fundraiser for the museum, benefiting the Briscoe’s full array of exhibitions, engagement and educational programs throughout the year.

Friday, March 22
- Collectors Summit, 1 – 3 p.m.
Hear artists Paul Rhymer and Kenny McKenna share their insights on Western art.
- Exhibition Preview, Dinner & Live Auction, 5:30 p.m.
Attendees enjoy an evening of cocktails in the Night of Artists exhibition, an elegant, seated dinner and a live auction of over 285 new works created especially for the affair.
Saturday, March 23
- Artists’ Awards Breakfast, 9 a.m.
See 2024’s top award-winning artists revealed and honored.
- Live Artists Demonstrations, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
See artists Donna Howell-Sickles and Jason Scull create their works.
- Grand Exhibition Opening, Art Sale and Reception, 5:30 p.m.
The grand finale kicks off with a vaquero horseback welcome, where guests can take in the exhibition while mixing and mingling with more than 85 of the world’s leading contemporary Western Artists over cocktails, authentic Texas cuisine, live music and dancing under the stars. Party goers can cast their “luck of the draw” ballots with intent to purchase fixed priced works during this exciting event.

The Night of Artists public exhibition opens Sunday, March 24 and will be on display during regular museum hours through May 5 and is included in museum admission. Any works remaining after opening weekend will be available for purchase both in-person and online through the run of the exhibition.
