Comfort Foodies, a vibrant culinary haven where Southern Soul and Caribbean flavors unite, is introducing a festive new specialty catering menu geared to make holiday gatherings a breeze this year!
Comfort Foodies, located at 8128 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Ste B, is making the job of putting out a delicious homecooked holiday spread easy with flavorful dishes designed to delight taste buds and hearts alike. The new Holiday Menu offers an assortment of mouthwatering options ranging from savory Empanadas to succulent Whole Fried Cajun Turkeys, alongside an array of Southern and Caribbean sides, fresh-baked pies, and lavish family feasts, all made from scratch.
The Holiday Menu features an enticing selection of offerings including authentic Empanadas available by the dozen, featuring Chicken, Beef, Spinach, Shrimp & Cheese, and Oxtail, and Caribbean specialties like Dominican Pastels En Hoja, available in beef, pork, or chicken.

The entrées selection includes options like the flavorful Pernil (Spanish Pork Roast), a Whole Fried Cajun Turkey, Shrimp Alfredo, and Chicken Alfredo Pasta, available in both half and full pan servings. Scrumptious sides including Southern Collard Greens, Candied Yams, Caribbean Rice & Peas, and warm, gooey Mac & Cheese, are also available in half and full pan servings.
The grand finale of Comfort Foodies’ Holiday Menu features irresistible scratch-made desserts, including Peach Cobbler, Banana Pudding, BJ’s fresh-baked 9″ Sweet Potato or Pecan Pies, and the exotic Coquito, a festive Caribbean Eggnog available in 1 liter bottles!
Meet the Owners
Comfort Foodies has been serving their unique blend of Caribbean and Southern Soul Food to Houston since 2020. Owners Elsa and Jeff Matthews have brought the perfect recipe of flavors, family, and a passion for sharing cultures, community, and cuisine to Houston’s diverse restaurant scene.
Elsa, an Afro-Latina, hailing from the Dominican Republic and raised in NYC, discovered her passion for cooking through her mother’s loving kitchen and always dreamt of establishing a family restaurant celebrating Caribbean cuisine.
Jeff, a native Houstonian, is a culinary virtuoso in his own right with a deeply rooted passion for Southern cuisine. Together, bound by their love of food, they melded their Latin Caribbean-Southern Soul Food backgrounds together to launch a Comfort Foodies food truck in 2020, followed by the opening of their first Houston brick-and-mortar restaurant on Sam Houston Pkwy.
Comfort Foodies’ harmonious fusion of flavors and cultures offers a new and exciting culinary experience in an environment that lovingly welcomes family and friends to the table. Guests can enjoy everything from Empanadas to Oxtails, and Smothered Porkchops to Blackened Catfish with creamy Cajun coconut sauce, along with a host of Latin Caribbean and Southern Soul sides, specialty dishes, and desserts!

In addition to the new Holiday Catering Menu, Comfort Foodies caters buffets for various special occasions, including brunches, corporate events, showers, holiday gatherings, and any social affair. To ensure a timely feast, Comfort Foodies Holiday orders must be placed and paid for no later than seven days before the desired pick-up date.
