National Honey Month is Celebrated at Bakery Lorraine with Wildflower Honey Macaron
Since September is National Honey Month, you should be aware of how San Antonio’s Bakery Lorraine is celebrating the sweet treat gifted by our fuzzy pollinator friends. Every Bakery Lorraine location will feature a Wildflower Honey Macaron available exclusively in September. This buzz-worthy treat is filled with a honey buttercream and sweet honey center. Bakery Lorraine at the Pearl will also feature a honey tasting station* for guests to try the variety of flavors that honey can produce, including Orange Blossom, Buckwheat and Meadowfoam.
Additionally, Bakery Lorraine has some long-standing pastries on the menu that include delicious honey flavors. Their Cinnamon Rolls are glazed with honey from Gretchen Bee Ranch and their Caneles are also created using bees’ wax in the molds to help give the pastry a shiny exterior. The Wildflower Honey Macaron, Cinnamon Roll and Canele are available at all Bakery Lorraine locations.
We love celebrating #NationalHoneyMonth with the National Honey Board! Stop by #BakeryLorraine at @historicpearl for a free honey-tasting station, and honey-infused baked goods all month long. *Honey station only available at our Pearl location, honey-infused baked goods available at all locations.
We also use honey because it helps honey bees! Buying our products that use honey helps support bees, beekeepers, our diverse food supply and our environment.
About Bakery Lorraine
Bakery Lorraine was borne of a plan to pivot out of the restaurant industry. When founders Jeremy Mandrell and Anne Ng set out from the Bay Area to San Antonio, they thought they’d left their baking careers for good. Then they started making and selling pastries at a farmer’s market on the weekends for the love of it and quickly developed a fan base. When they met local entrepreneur Charlie Biedenharn, that stand became Bakery Lorraine, an artisanal bakery that was named one the country’s best new bakeries by CNN’s Eatocracy that same year. Since then, they’ve been recognized as one of the Top 100 Bakeries in the US by Food and Wine and nominated for best pastry chefs by the James Beard Foundation.
