This Beautiful SA Park, Brackenridge Park Conservancy, Partnering with the Fin Addict Angler Foundation is Hosting a FREE Family & Friends Fishing Day
This beautiful SA Park will have over 600 native catfish at this FREE youth fishing clinic available to catch courtesy of the Texas Park & Wildlife Department on October 22.
WHAT:
Brackenridge Park Conservancy is partnering with Fin Addict Angler Foundation to host Family & Friends Fishing Day, a FREE fishing clinic for ages 5 to 16 on October 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Participants and volunteers are exempt from having a fishing license for the duration of the clinic and will have the opportunity to fish the San Antonio River stocked with over 600 native catfish brought by Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Interested participants can expect the Fin Addict Angler instructors and volunteers to educate guests on the basics of fishing through fun educational methods. This event is in partnership with the San Antonio River Authority and San Antonio Parks & Recreation.
Pre-registration is available on the Fin Addict Angler website HERE. Participants may bring their own fishing gear to be permitted to continue fishing after the event with their own equipment and bait. All Texas Parks & Wildlife Department fishing rules and regulations apply. Adults must accompany children to attend.

ABOUT THE BRACKENRIDGE PARK CONSERVANCY:
Incorporated in 2008, the Brackenridge Park Conservancy’s formation was the result of advocacy on the part of the Conservation Society of San Antonio, which played an active role in the Park’s preservation for nearly 100 years. The Conservancy’s mission is to be a steward of and an advocate for the Park and an instrument for preserving and enhancing the Park’s natural, historic and recreational resources for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
The non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization operates under a long-term Management Agreement with the City of San Antonio that is administered by the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department. The only organization dedicated solely to protecting Brackenridge Park, the Conservancy raises funds for projects that benefit the Park, implements park-based programs and projects, supports the evolution and implementation of plans for the Park, and acts as a forum for users to address common issues and build consensus.
ABOUT FINN ADDICT ANGLER FOUNDATION:
The Finn Addict Angler Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to providing free group fishing classes and assisting with sponsorship programs for youth anglers. The Foundation’s primary desire is to engage local youth and other communities to take an active interest in the natural resources and the impact our actions make on the environment. In the Foundation’s public and private clinics, attendees learn the important skills of stewardship, safety/first aid, basic fishing skills, and casting techniques. Through the education these clinics offer, The Finn Addict Angler Foundation hopes that attendees gain a sense of well-being, security, inclusion in their community, and respect for their local outdoor spaces.
