What:
The Good Kind’s invitation, which is set to look like Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers from the Netflix series Bridgerton, invites guests to don their most fabulous hat and take their place in society for what is sure to be the event of the season.
Guests can watch the derby with a mint julep cocktail in hand throughout the day from 4pm-8pm, but will most certainly want to catch race 12; “the most exciting two minutes in sports” live at 5:57pm CST.
Live music will be provided by Terra Vista Strings from 6pm-8pm, and a big hat contest will take place at 7pm. The history of the Kentucky derby hat tradition began at the inception of the race, and has made the event as much about fashion as the race itself. The top guests with the best derby hats, based on crowd participation, will win prizes.
The Good Kind is kid and pet friendly, and offers a full food & bar menu. Their hours are Tuesday & Wednesday from 3pm – 9pm, Thursday through Saturday from 11am – 11pm and Sunday from 11am – 9pm.
