About Lost Draw Winery
The roots of Lost Draw Winery spread deep within the Texas Hill Country and as far as the Texas High Plains. In the early 2000s, High Plains-based farmer Andy Timmons diversified his agricultural operations to include grape growing at the original Lost Draw Vineyards site. His nephew, Andrew Sides, worked for the family farming operation and helped to expand the vineyards from five acres to over 50 acres. Several years after graduating from Texas Tech University, Sides made the decision to pursue a career as a winemaker. At the time, Sides’ father-in-law Troy Ottmers had available historic land in Fredericksburg, while Sides and Timmons had grapes with which to produce and sell wine. Lost Draw produced its first vintage in 2012 and opened its tasting room doors in 2014. Today, Lost Draw has tasting rooms in Fredericksburg and Johnson City, Texas. It sells its wines throughout Texas and ships directly to customers in numerous other states.
