Enjoy a Fine Art and Tapas at local Pizzeria, Volare Italian Restaurant, as they host Spanish style wine dinner & art viewing at a Spanish Wine Dinner on August 24th.

Volare Italian Restaurant, located at 3902 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212 inside the historic Olmos Pharmacy, is hosting a special wine dinner event on Wednesday, August 24th at 6pm.

Titled Art & Tapas, the eatery has teamed up with I Love Aceite Olive Oil in an effort to transform the restaurant into a Spanish style art gallery for the evening, complete with flowing wine, live acoustic Spanish guitar music & a multicourse tapas menu.

About the Event:

Photography from Spanish chef & artist Fernando Ortega will be on display and available for purchase throughout the evening. His artwork features a wide variety of subjects, landscapes, and scenes from all over the world. A former lawyer, Ortega left law back in Spain to pursue his true passion of bringing authentic Spanish cuisine & olive oil to America as well as documenting his world travels through photography. “I have been able to combine the knowledge and skills I have obtained in each of the fields I have worked in throughout my life & let others see the world through my eyes in my photography.” For the event, Ortega has selected 20 photos, taken throughout his travels in Europe and America that all have a unique story behind them with street and travel photography being the main focus of the collection. Each print will be an original, signed and framed by the photographer.

Guests are encouraged to mingle, sip, & discuss the artworks on display throughout the evening while dining on a menu of Spanish Tapas. Notable menu items include The Nest, a traditional pintxo made with Serrano ham and fried quail eggs & Pincho Morunos, a dish comprised of marinated pork on a skewer cooked over an open flame. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to imbibe both white & red wine varieties throughout the evening.

Tickets:

Tickets for the Art & Tapas wine dinner event on August 24th are $70 and include a souvenir bottle of Buezo 2005 Tempranillos (valued at $50) which features a red, robust & intense fruit flavor indicative of the Spanish wine region.
