Tokyo Olympics – Cheer on Your Favorite Teams or Athletics with Cocktails From Around the World
Like most of us, you won’t be traveling overseas to watch the Tokyo Olympics (7/23 – 8/8) with millions of fans this year. Fortunately with this roster, you can transport your taste buds and toast to your favorite athletes or home teams with spirits from around the globe.
Middle West Spirits – OYO Vodka
The Bomb Popsicle
2 oz OYO Character Vodka
0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.5 oz Simple Syrup
0.25 oz Blue Curacao
Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin with ice. Shake for 20 seconds or until the outside of the tin is frosted. Double strain into a rocks glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
Seagram’s Basically Vitamins Bloody Mary
2 oz. Seagram’s 100 Proof Vodka
1⁄2 oz. Puréed Spinach
1⁄2 oz. Green Tomato Juice
1⁄2 oz. Carrot Juice
1⁄2 oz. Lemon Juice
1⁄2 oz. Aloe Vera Juice
1⁄2 tsp. Minced Garlic
Directions: Rim a highball glass with celery salt and fill the glass with ice. Combine all ingredients in the glass over the ice and stir with a bar spoon. Garnish with a celery stalk, sliced carrot, parsley, cucumber and lemon rounds and an edible flower.
Starward Sweet Cherry Smash
1.5 oz. Starward Two-Fold Australian Whisky
1 oz. Cherry Jam
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Soda Water
Method: Combine whisky, jam and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain over fresh ice in a stemless wine glass. Top with soda water and garnish with 2 brandy cherries on a skewer and a mint sprig. Enjoy!

Method: Pour Proper No. Twelve over ice. Add lemonade and iced tea. Stir. Garnish with lemon slice.
Corralejo Spanish Peach Margarita
2 oz. Corralejo Silver
1⁄2 oz. Peach Schnapps
3⁄4 oz. Agave Nectar
1 oz. Lemon Juice
5 Mint Leaves
Method: Tear mint leaves into fourths and add to a shaker. Add tequila, peach schnapps, agave nectar and lemon juice to the shaker. Shake vigorously. Strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a mint leaf.
Big City, Turn Me Loose (By Sarah Syman – The Dandy Crown, Chicago)
1.5 oz Benriach The Original Ten
0.5 oz Benriach The Smoky Ten
1 oz Honey-Ginger-Blueberry Syrup
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Orange Bitters
1 Pinch Sea Salt
Directions: Combine all ingredients in shaker tin, shake until proper dilution. Strain over fresh ice.
Honey-Ginger-Blueberry Syrup 1. Peel ginger and chop into small, thin cubes. 2. In a small pot, combine 1 cup water, 1 cup honey, 3/4 cup peeled/cubed ginger and 3/4 cup frozen blueberries. 3. Cook over medium heat until blueberries puff up and are about to explode. Remove from heat, allow mixture to cool and sit for 2 hours. 4. Fine strain to remove all solids and store.
Glass: Rocks Glass
Garnish: Candied Ginger
2 oz Portofino Dry Gin
1/2 oz Italicus or other bergamot liqueur
2 dashes of lavender bitter
Method: Pour into a large glass filled with ice, top with Prosecco and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
