ABOUT THE ARTISTS
The Foreign Arm – April 1
San Antonio’s best kept secret, The Foreign Arm is a neo-soul super group of outrageously talented
musicians and vocalists. Led by Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson and Nicholas Blevins, the band has found
success with a variety of member lineups over the years. Enjoy an energetic and spiritually edifying
performance complete with lush melodies that pulse with a heady blend of soul and vibrant vocal
Michael J. & The Foxes – April 8
Led by Michael Carrillo AKA Mikey Vibe, Michael J. & The Foxes have been bringing their indie-folk-
meets-honky-tonk vibe to audiences since 2014. The current lineup features Leah Ehrhard (vocals),
Bobby Rivas (guitar), Kirstian Barboza (drums), Noah Slavin (bass), Jaime Ramirez (keys), and of course
Carrillo crooning away, guitar in hand.
MC² & The S.O.U.L. – April 15
Louis “LQ” Iverson and Keith ”Smeazy” Passmore, combine the experience, wisdom, and knowledge of
everyday life with the mastery of Hip Hop and soul music to form the essential sound of MC². Both
prior military members, the duo got its start in Washington, DC. Now fully dedicated to the creation of
music as well as other avenues of creativity and entertainment, both emcees reside in San Antonio, TX.
Before meeting each other in Washington, DC, the two emcees grew up in two vastly different cities.
Smeazy from Raleigh, NC and LQ from Wichita, KS. They find music influences from artists and groups
such as A Tribe Called Quest, Little Brother, BlackStar, Common, J Dilla, The Roots, and many more. A
perfect blend of Mid-West Vibes and East Coast Jabs!
Alongside their 7-piece band, The S.O.U.L. (Sounds of Universal Love), they deliver rhythmic, and
dynamic soundscapes of live hip hop & soul music. The band’s diversity covers everything from
traditional boom bap, to neo-soul, and even a bit of trap.
Jonny Gold – April 22
Jonny Gold is a singer-songwriter who was raised in the South Texas hill-country. Influences on their
music include Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Ray Wylie Hubbard, but Jonny has never liked painting with
just a few colors. Their musical tastes and influence capture an entire spectrum of sound — Tracey
Chapman, Nina Simone, Ray LaMontagne, James Taylor, The War on Drugs, Dawes, and more.
Jonny’s songs are sad and sweet – folk music crooned to you by a strong, magnetic baritone that reaches
heights, dynamics, and textures that consistently drop jaws.
Lonely Horse – April 29
Rounding out the first month of our Spring Concert Series is the dynamic two-piece band, Lonely Horse.
On hiatus since 2019, Nick Long (guitar, vocals) and Travis Hild (drums) reunite to bring the dark folk,
indie desert rock sounds of Lonely Horse to the Cherrity Bar stage. Founded in 2010, Lonely Horse is real
and truthful. With heavy sides of soul and blues, the duo has rocked San Antonio and beyond for over a
decade, winning Afropunk’s Battle of the Bands in 2014. Their performances, an emotional explosion of
distorted blues riffs punctuated by Long’s soulful crooning, have been dearly missed. Don’t miss this rare
opportunity to experience it all for yourself.
