Texas Heritage Vineyard Opens Expanded Outdoor Seating Area Just in Time for Spring
Texas Heritage Vineyard has completed a significant expansion and remodel of the outdoor seating area at its tasting room, located in the heart of the Texas wine corridor, 3245 E US Highway 290 in Fredericksburg, Texas. To accommodate the increased demand for outdoor seating at its popular destination winery tasting room, Texas Heritage Vineyard has installed a beautiful roof to cover its 1,600 square foot deck and has added roofing to cover 3,000 square feet of additional outdoor space.
“Our winery tasting room is incredibly popular with locals, tourists, and wine tour groups who love to enjoy our award-winning wine outside in the beautiful weather,” said Susan Johnson, owner of Texas Heritage Vineyard. “To make sure we have enough space for people to comfortably relax in the open air, we’ve created an outdoor lounge complete with bistro tables, ceiling fans, festive lighting, a fireplace, and three fire pits that create a cozy place to appreciate wine with friends.”
New Release – 2018 Texas Heritage Vineyard Zinfandel
To celebrate the opening of the outdoor lounge and welcome the arrival of spring, winemaker, Tyler Buddemeyer, is releasing the 2018 Texas Heritage Vineyard Zinfandel, Narra Vineyards, Texas High Plains. This small-production wine is aged in neutral oak barrels for 21 months.
It is a classic Zinfandel with jammy blueberry and plum flavors, a hint of white pepper, and a little smokiness on the finish. It has lively acidity, medium body, and ripe tannins making it a lovely wine to pair with a variety of food, and it is particularly great with Asian dishes.
New Expanded Outdoor Lounge
The Texas Heritage Vineyard outdoor lounge has outdoor seating for 90 people on a multi-tier deck, and adjacent seating area with sweeping views of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The gracious outdoor area ringed by mature live oak trees is open year-round providing socially distanced seating protected from the elements.
The outdoor lounge not only serves as a large extension to the tasting room’s indoor space but also provides a home for some of the winery’s events including the upcoming Alamo Hero’s Day & Texas Flag Retirement.
The Alamo Hero’s Day & Texas Flag Retirement event will be held from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, March 6, the day the Alamo fell. It offers a glimpse of the period with a living history event presented by members of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation. Texas Heritage Vineyard strives to honor its Texas roots and its brave, resourceful, hard-working, and fun-loving ancestors. Wine by the glass and bottle will be available, and the Nimitz Rotary will be selling BBQ chicken plates to benefit a local charity.
About Texas Heritage Vineyard
Winery owners, Billy and Susan Johnson, started Texas Heritage Vineyard as a dream of creating a family-operated vineyard, winery, and tasting room that could be passed down to future generations. The winery production facility was completed in the fall of 2017, is home to more than 400 barrels of wine, and is used for special Wine Club events. The Texas Heritage Vineyard tasting room, located at 3245 E US Highway 290 in Fredericksburg, Texas, opened in May of 2018 and is operated by daughter Jessica Allen. “Honoring our past, while celebrating the present.” This is the mantra of Texas Heritage Vineyard.
