Apple Cider Old Fashioned
Fully immerse yourself in the figurative (and literal) spirits of Texas at the iconic JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa in the heart of the Hill Country with Texas whiskey based cocktails.
Our favorite this year is the Apple Cider Old Fashioned, a spin on the classic cocktail with Texas Balcones Rumble whiskey (it’s just so fun to say, isn’t it?) and apple cider.
Enjoy this indulgent drink at 18 Oaks, the resort’s steakhouse, with a perfectly cooked steak and casually elegant atmosphere.
- 1 ¾ oz Balcones Rumble
- ½ oz Grand Marnier
- 2 oz unfiltered apple cider
- 1 tbs lemon juice
Muddle two brown sugar cubes with a dash of orange bitters in a glass and pour Rumble and Grand Marnier over rocks or ice ball. Garnish with a caramelized apple slice, luxardo cherries, and lemon zest.
Pomegranate Rosemary Spritzer
Also enjoy favorite winter flavors with this festive twist on a spritzer at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa where handcrafted cocktails and holiday spirit are never far from sight.
Get away from the hustle and bustle and warm up by the lobby or outdoor fireplaces at the luxurious resort in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and enjoy the Pomegranate Rosemary Spritzer in Cibolo Moon restaurant.
- 1 ½ oz rosemary pomegranate reduction
- For pomegranate reduction, use 1 cup POM juice, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 rosemary sprig, 2 orange peels and reduce for 30 minutes over low heat on stove. Cool prior to using.
- 5 oz champagne or prosecco
- ½ oz fresh squeezed orange juice
Pour champagne or prosecco and rosemary pomegranate reduction over ice and add a splash of orange juice. Garnish with rosemary sprig and pomegranate seeds.
