“Puro Chorizo” Burger Pop-Up by Homegrown Chef at Wong’s Bodega

Homegrown Chef Edward Villarreal is back with a “Puro Chorizo” Burger “To-Go” Pop-Up at Wong’s Bodega, a super cool shop in the Southtown neighborhood which strives to showcase high-quality, locally-made goods.

On Friday, August 14, Homegrown Chef will be serving up some incredible Chorizo Burgers and more, including a vegan chorizo burger option. Folks can pick up their to-go orders between 4:30 and 7:00 pm and are encouraged to pre-order to ensure they get their goodies! They are also welcome to do a little shopping and can pick up a variety of things, from farm eggs to assorted vegan eats.

“We love what they’re doing at Wong’s by supporting all of these wonderful local food companies. You can’t get more homegrown than that!” said Chef Edward Villarreal. “We’re thrilled to partner with them for the first time and bring the community some mouth-watering chorizo burgers, including a vegan option, something Wong’s vegan-friendly shop prides itself on.”

Wong’s Bodega owner, Raul Martinez-Salinas, added, “Wong’s Bodega is excited to work with Homegrown Chef. We hope this partnership will produce a stronger community relationship as well as bring the community healthier food options. This is your Bodega. Please let us know what you need. We are the community. We are in this together!”

MENU 
– All orders come with chips and a soda or water. For an additional $2, you can upgrade to Hip Peas and a Southside Soda or Element Kombucha.

– All burgers served with Mexi Slaw: Cabbage / cilantro / lime-jalapeno vinaigrette.

HG Original Chori Burger Chorizo Toasted bun, Guajillo Refried Beans, Over-easy egg, Oaxaca cheese, Achiote aioli Cost: $16

OPTION 2:
Mentira Chori Burger (Vegan) Incredible patty Toasted bun Mushroom chorizo, Guajillo refried beans, Vegan cheddar Garbonzo achiote aioli. Cost: $17

OPTION 3:
Chori Pan Split Kiolbassa sausage, Butter-toasted bolillo, Caramelized onions, Whole grain mustard, Sriracha aioli, Avocado salsa, Chow chow relish Cost: $15
