The Favorite Southtown Hangout, The Good Kind, is Offering a Father’s Day Special
The Good Kind, located at 1127 S. St. Mary’s St, San Antonio, TX 78210, is offering a special Father’s Day meal full of BBQ and beer in their physically distant, but socially connected garden lounge on Sunday, June 21st from 11am-4pm.
The Father’s Day special includes slow smoked brisket with house made BBQ sauce, locally produced sausage, Mexican street style creamed corn, grilled fennel sweet potato salad, house baked yeast rolls, spicy pickled cucumber and red onion, and a tall boy of frosty Modelo.
This Father’s Day meal will only be $18 per person and includes everything you need to sip a cold one with Dad. The Good Kind will host this event in their socially distant outdoor garden space on Father’s Day, Sunday June 21st from 11am-4pm.
The Good Kind is adhering to all regulations and procedures to ensure the safety and well being of both guests and staff, including all current occupancy and sanitary procedures. Their temporary hours are Monday through Friday from 4pm-9pm, Saturday 11am-9pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm.
About The Good Kind
The Good Kind was created by chef/owner Tim McDiarmid, the food and entertaining visionary behind Tim the Girl Catering and Ivy Hall, an event venue in Southtown. Tim was raised in rural Canada, growing her own food. For Tim, “farm to table” isn’t a fad that might come and go out of style; it’s her history. After a decade working in some of the most visionary whole foods restaurants in New York City, Tim chose to settle down in sunny, laid-back San Antonio, then only on the cusp of its culinary revolution. A single mother, she wanted a flexible profession that would allow her to be with her son as well as focus on the wholesome, vibrant diet she’d always enjoyed. Tim the Girl Catering was born in 2011. Tim opened her first retail outpost, The Good Kind Café, in the Pearl’s Bottling Department food hall in 2017. After successfully completing the culinary incubation program, The Good Kind in the Pearl closed in 2020. During this time period of growth, she opened a second Good Kind location in 2018, as well as took over the management of Ivy Hall, an eclectic venue space in San Antonio’s King William district.
