Crystal Farms Cheese Wraps are the Newest Keto Friendly Alternative to Bread, Pitas and Tortillas

If you are in search of an alternative to pitas, tortillas or bread for your lunch time sandwiches or dinner tacos, here is something to consider. Cheese wraps from Crystal Farms. These cheese slices are keto friendly and are specially designed to use as a wrap or roll in place of your bread.

Now you can have a delicious wrap filled with your favorite vegetables or meats knowing you are sticking to that low-carb diet. They come available in two great flavors, marble jack or mozzarella.

I have tried both flavors and enjoyed them both equally. Each 6 oz pack contains:

  • Six 1 oz slices of cheese
  • Specially cut to roll up easily
  • 7 or 8 grams of protein per serving
  • Mozzarella – 90 calories per slice, Marble Jack 110 calories per slice
  • Convenient peel and reseal tray
  • Keto & Atkins friendly

My favorite way of using them was to make a simple wrap, burrito or taco depending on the filling. It is a quick way to do lunch and easy to stick to keto eating. I actually love this idea and I’m glad someone came up with a cheese slice that works as a wrap. I did note that the cheese was a little thin and could tear easily when trying to wrap it. It did help to make sure the cheese was very cold first! Both the marble jack and mozzarella had good flavor and I love the idea.

Of course, feel free to just eat these cheese slices right out to the package for a quick snack as well! I did!

Another fun recipe I tried was using the Marble Jack as chips for my homemade salsa!

Cheese Chips & Salsa

This makes a great snack, or party appetizer to serve with Margaritas or white wine.

Instructions for Cheese Chips

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cover an 18” x 13” half-sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Place two cheese wraps on the parchment and bake for 4-5 minutes or until the edges of the wraps are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the toasted wraps from the oven and carefully lift the parchment at opposite ends to remove from the sheet pan. Place the parchment with wraps upon a cutting board or another cool surface and allow the wraps to cool for 10-20 seconds. Using your fingertips gently grasp an edge of each wrap and carefully pull them away from the paper until they release. Place the wraps on paper towels to help absorb excess oil and let the shells sit for 10 minutes to cool and firm up.
  • Once the tostadas shells are cool and rigid, using a sharp knife, cut each shells into half, cut each half in half again, and then cut each quarter into half again, leaving you with 8 chips from each shell.
  • Place chips in a circle around a cup of your favorite salsa.

I found this recipe for Breakfast Tostadas on their website which I am definitely going to try next. I love Mexican food and with the keto diet, I do miss my tortillas. And this dish looks perfect for any time of day; breakfast, lunch or dinner.
