Texas Public Radio Presents ¡VIVA! – A Telethon Supporting The Arts & Artists in San Antonio Saturday, May 9th, 2020 from 12:00PM – Midnight
Texas Public Radio has partnered together with Lonesome Rose, Luminaria, NowCast- SA, and Nelco Media to present: ¡VIVA! – A Live Telethon Supporting the Arts & Artists in San Antonio. Hosted live by Garrett T. Capps from The Lonesome Rose on St. Mary’s St., on Saturday, May 9th, from 12:00PM to Midnight. ¡VIVA! will feature pre-recorded video’s of special performances from local artists, mu-sicians, dancers, chefs, comedians, and writers, as well as virtual museum and gallery tours from local tastemakers and curators, plus a few surprise special guests performing live! The telethon will be visible on multiple channels including Facebook Live, YouTube, TPR.org, and other partner web-sites. Proceeds raised during this livestream event will go to help fund the Corona Arts Relief Program, which benefits individual artists residing in Bexar County affected by COVID- 19. With new donations from this telethon and other private sponsors, Luminaria Artist Foundation will reopen a second round for artist support.

About Corona Arts Relief Program: To address the impact of COVID-19 on individual artists, the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture and Luminaria Artist Foundation launched the Corona Arts Relief Program, which provided the first round of support for lost artist fees and professional develop-ment support for Bexar County artists. With new donations from this telethon and other private sponsors, Luminaria Artist Foundation will reopen a second round for artist support.
