How to “Fiesta From Your Home”

Make Your Favorite Fiesta Cocktail 

  • Missing your favorite Fiesta cocktail? Los Barrios, Twang and Jeret Peña have you covered with recipes you can replicate from the comfort of your home. 
    • “Margarita’s Margarita” by Diana Barrios Trevino of Los Barrios Family Restaurants 
      • Ingredients 
        • 1.5 oz Hornitos Tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
        • ¾ oz Cointreau
        • Ice
        • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
        • Fresh orange juice from ½ an orange 
        • Salt
      • Preparation
        • Add the ice to your shaker, pour the tequila and Cointreau into the shaker. Add fresh lime juice, followed by fresh orange juice. Drop half of the orange into the shaker. Shake to mix. 
      • Finish & Serve
        • Pour into a salt-rimmed glass filled with ice and serve to your loved ones!
    • Twang
      • Twang has developed 3 twists on a Margarita to celebrate Fiesta. The recipes include a Guava Margarita, Pickle Margarita, and a Tamarind Margarita. 
    • Guava Margarita
      • Guava margarita shaken served in tall margarita glass.
      • Twang a rita unwind lime rim
      • .75 fresh lime juice
      • 1 oz orange liqueur
      • 1.5 oz blanco tequila
      • Top with guava juice

  • Pickle Margarita
    • Pickle margarita shaken served in a rocks glass with pickle skewered garnish.
    • Twangerz pickle punch rim
    • Muddled strawberry/ Serrano pepper
    • .5 lime juice
    • .75 Oz pickle juice
    • .75 simple syrup
    • 1.5 oz mezcal

  • “The Puro Rita” by Jeret Peña
      • Ingredients
        • 1.5 oz Casamigos Tequila
        • 0.5 oz Key Lime Juice 
        • ¼ of the juice of a Persian Lime 
        • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
        • Chamoy
        • Tajin 
        • Ice
      • Preparation
        • Add the ice to your shaker, pour the tequila and orange liquor. 
        • Add fresh Key Lime juice, followed by Persian Lime juice.
        • Shake to mix. 
      • Finish & Serve
        • Dress your glass using Chamoy and Tajin powder, pour the mixture from the shaker into your glass over ice. 
        • Top with aromatic bitters and serve.

Make Your Own Fiesta Medal or Papel Picado

  • It’s not Fiesta without decorations! Using art supplies available at home, create custom-made papel picado to adorn your rooms using tissue paper, glue and string, or challenge your little ones to fashion their own Fiesta medal using construction paper, markers, paint or colored pencils.
