Part 1 – Travel the Globe Without Leaving the Kitchen – Cancun

Part 1 – Our Kitchen is a Delicious Way to Travel the Globe & Learn About Different Cultures Like Cancun

It feels like the world has been cut off from us at the moment thanks to the coronavirus. Being cooped up doesn’t mean we have to be bored though. Just because we can’t physically visit exotic places doesn’t mean we can’t learn about them. All we need is a recipe, some key ingredients and we are on our way to delicious places. And the whole family can get involved. In fact this can be a learning experience for everyone. If you have a globe, blindfold a family member, spin the globe and have them put their finger on a spot. Wherever they land is where you will visit. Use a computer to look up the place, find an easy recipe to try and then go to work making it. (If you happen to land on water, pick a seafood dish or spin again.) You can also learn more about the country you landed on; dress, customs, festivals, etc. You may even want to plan a trip there with the family when we can once more travel the world again!

Today our finger lands on Cancun, a Mexican city on the Yucatán Peninsula bordering the Caribbean Sea. Cancun is known for its beaches, numerous resorts and nightlife. Here we will try a creamy bisque flavored with red chili oil and an exotic adult cocktail with both smoky and tropical notes.

Bon Voyage!
