Specialty Macaron at Bakery Lorraine Helps Raise Money for Mercy Chef’s Aid in Bahamas
Bakery Lorraine has released a special Bahama Macaron to benefit Mercy Chefs and their ongoing aid in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian. Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, non-profit disaster relief organization that serves professionally prepared meals for victims, volunteers and first responders in national emergencies and natural disasters. 100% of the proceeds from the macaron will go back to Mercy Chefs and the costs of supplies. Bakery Lorraine will additionally be taking donations at all of their locations until Sunday as Anne Ng and Jeremy Mandrell, owners and head pastry chefs at Bakery Lorraine, will be going to the Bahamas next week to volunteer with Mercy Chefs.
Customers can ask for a manager at any location to make a cash donation. The Bahama Macaron is based off the Bahama Mama drink, so it does contain alcohol.
About Bakery Lorraine
Jeremy and Anne met while working for Thomas Keller at Bouchon Bakery in the Napa Valley, California and have been baking together ever since. They honed their skills in different kitchens around the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to San Antonio in the summer of 2010. In 2011 they met entrepreneur Charlie Biedenharn who joined them in forming Bakery Lorraine.
Every item that they put out is handmade with the utmost care and attention to detail. Each ingredient is treated with the proper respect and thoughtfulness it deserves—from the miller’s flour to the dairy farmer’s eggs and butter.
