You Are Invited to the Heart of Downtown for Concerts, Comedy, Broadway and More at Majestic & Empire Theatres
San Antonio’s historic Majestic Theatre and Charline McCombs Empire Theatre welcome live music, comedic acts, Broadway performances, and more this September. In addition, the Majestic is proud to sponsor the Main Stage at the annual Jazz’SAlive celebration in Travis Park, featuring acts such as Dianne Reeves, The Lao Tizer Band, and more.
Happy Hour Tours – September 9 and 13 at 5:00PM and 6:00PM
Guests can spend an evening going behind the scenes at the historic Majestic Theatre, learning about the beautiful theatre’s rich history, architecture and character while indulging in a complimentary “Crown Jewel” cocktail in celebration of the Majestic’s 90th anniversary. A selection of beer and wine will be available for purchase at the bar. A portion of ticket proceeds support Las Casas Foundation’s Performing Arts Scholarship Program. Tickets: $25.00
The 36th Annual Jazz’SAlive Music Festival: September 20-21, 2019
The Majestic Theatre is proud to be the Main Stage Sponsor of the San Antonio Parks Foundation’s 36th Annual Jazz’SAlive Music Festival for the second year in a row. The free event will feature acts like five-time Grammy winner Dianne Reeves, The Lao Tizer Band, Tomar & the FC’s, Aaron Prado with Jacqueline Sotelo and Johnny P, and more. RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikova will bring her talents to the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre for one night only! Known for her incredibly funny personas and characters, including everybody’s favorite dumpster living hairdresser Trish, Katya’s show promises to be pone hilarious night. The show promises wild fun, hilarious lip-sync routines, shenanigans, and more. Katya is the product of Boston-based performer, Brian McCook. Tickets: $27.75+
Jay Leno – Thursday, September 12 at 7:30PM
Emmy Award-winning acclaimed comedian, late night TV show host, and best-selling children’s book author Jay Leno will make an appearance at the Majestic Theatre for a night of live comedy this fall. Tickets: $55.00+
Kathleen Madigan: Hot Dogs and Angels Tour – Friday, September 13 at 8:00PM
Kathleen Madigan, who recently appeared on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening and Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, performs at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre this September. The award-winning comedienne is a regular on the late-night circuit and currently has three standup specials on Netflix. Her latest standup album “Bothering Jesus” was the highest selling release of a comedy album since 2014. Tickets: $29.50+
Les Misérables – September 17-22
Cameron Mackintosh presents the new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, Les Misérables, direct from its acclaimed Broadway return. Featuring the beloved songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More,” and many more, this epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. ARTS San Antonio: Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night – Friday, September 27 at 7:30PM
Mistaken identities, disguises, and love triangles: Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night sees the great playwright blending his comic and dramatic devices with masterful dexterity. Actors from the London Stage will bring their talents to San Antonio in the classic Shakespearean play, blending drama, romance and comedy into one. Tickets: $29.00+
Home Free: Dive Bar Saints World Tour – Saturday, September 28 at 8:00PM
A cappella group Home Free brings a perfect evening of upbeat Nashville-dipped pop hits, country and western standards, rich Southern harmonies and quick-witted humor to the Majestic Theatre next month. The group will release their album Dive Bar Saints in September 2019. Tickets: $19.50+
