Culinaria Restaurant Weeks Start Aug 10 and Run Through Aug 24 with Delicious Meals at the Ready at both Zinc & Boudro’s

I was asked to come into Zinc Bistro & Bar to do a preview of Restaurant Weeks menu lineup for both Zinc and their sister restaurant Boudro’s Texas Bistro. I’m always happy to go to these two eateries as Boudro’s is hands down one of the most popular eateries on the San Antonio River Walk. Locals know it best for its tableside guacamole presentation and very popular Prickly Pear Margarita. And while Boudro’s embraces San Antonio’s old world charm, Zinc encompasses more of an elegant European Wine Bar on a quieter street just steps away from the famous River Walk. Both restaurants are housed in historic buildings in the heart of downtown and Executive Chef Danny Ibarra delivers delicious dishes to both restaurants incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients and intriguing flavors to enhance the top meat & seafood selections he is currently working with. Their extensive wine lists offer the perfect wine accompaniment for anything on the menu and for any occasion, no matter the size. Meaningful moments are celebrated at these sophisticated establishments!

Both restaurants are offering special menus at lunch & dinner for Culinaria Restaurant Weeks this year. Each week Chef Danny has planned a different menu for each restaurant allowing you to come in both weeks and try something different from his culinary creativity. I was given the chance to try a few things he has planned for both Boudro’s and Zinc and I know you will be pleasantly surprised with his taste combinations, whichever restaurant you decide to join.

Chef started off my meal with a Frisse with Gorgonzola, organic beets, candied almonds and breakfast radish drizzled with a charred cumin & orange dressing. A refreshing and delightful salad with flavor that are off the delicious chart. I have never tasted the likes of this salad and I recommend he keep it on the regular menu. This salad is slated for the Boudro’s dinner menu on Aug 17 – 24

My entree, a Korean selection of Angus Beef Shortrib Bulgogoi, is from the Zinc dinner menu on Aug 10 – 16. The shortribs have been marinated overnight in a gochujang sauce and served over a fragrant popcorn rice, baby marinated & charred Bok Choy, then topped with a pickled red cabbage. There are many flavors in this dish, but they all play really well with each other, bringing the whole dish to a beautiful crescendo. This dish is a must try for the meat lover or someone looking for a different play on beef.

The dessert I enjoyed was off the Boudro’s dinner menu for the week of Aug 17 – 24. It was a very light Lemon Pudding Cake served chilled with fresh blueberries, sprinkled with crushed homemade pecan sundried crumbs and a dollop of fresh whipped cream on top. This dessert added just a little sweetness to properly finish the meal and leave you pleasantly full, not stuffed.

Both restaurants are doing a lunch and dinner menu with a choice of salad or soup of the day, choice of two entrees and a special dessert. Lunch menus are $15 and dinner menus are $35. ***Tax and gratuity are in addition to meal price!***

Please note: Reservations are highly recommended at both restaurants as they are very popular among locals.
