Refreshing Cocktails to Enjoy This Summer Using Fruit and Hornitos Tequila
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to sit back and relax with a refreshing cocktail in hand, there’s good news coming your way. This August is predicted to be a scorcher all over the country and there’s no better way to cool off than with a delicious cocktail from Hornitos Tequila.
Below are two recipes from Hornitos that are sure to make any summer day unforgettable – whether you’re looking to unwind with a light and refreshing Grilled Grapefruit Paloma,or something bright and sweet like the Pineapple Fizz.

Grilled Grapefruit Paloma
- 2 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila
- 1 part fresh lime juice
- ¾ part ginger sage syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura® bitters
- Top with grapefruit beer (appx. 1 part)
- Sage sprigs
Preparation: Combine equal parts sugar and water with 1 ginger slice and 4 sage sprigs and bring to a boil to create ginger sage syrup. Allow the mixture to cool, combine all ingredients except grapefruit beer in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice and top with grapefruit beer. Garnish with a grilled grapefruit slice.
- 1 ½ parts Hornitos® Black Barrel® Tequila
- ¾ part fresh pineapple juice
- ½ part fresh lime juice
- ¼ part agave syrup
- 1 dash Angostura® bitters
- Splash of seltzer
- Pineapple chunks
Preparation: Combine all ingredients except seltzer in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and add a splash of seltzer. Garnish with a pineapple chunk skewer and a pineapple leaf.
