The Guadalupe Cultural Art Center – Galeria Guadalupe introduces a selection of local visual artists including, filmmakers, photographers, video installation and digital media artists. Participating artists include, Ariel Luna Anais, Ian Tyler Ibarra, Elise De Luna, Gabi Magaly, Arlene Mejorado, Josue Romero, Manuel Solis, Seline Trujillo / Drew M.H.and Vincent Valdez. Depicted in an exploration of two and three dimensional photography and video installation, Photoplay artists have captured a visual play of their conceptual, and digital process. Film work installations invite our viewers to examine ephemera and green room documentation as well as site-specific locations though out San Antonio landmarks and recognizable community portraiture. Through digital media, Photoplay presents a digital platform for visual communication for San Antonio’s established, emerging, developing and community contemporary artists.

About Celebrando Tradiciones
This monthly dance and music series running every First Friday brings together the Guadalupe’s two professional performance companies in residence, the Guadalupe Dance Company and Mariachi Azteca de America. This authentic dance and music experiencefeatures a wide variety of ballet folklorico, Spanish flamenco, Mariachi and traditional Mexican music with no two shows alike. A unique performance event, Celebrando Tradiciones will also feature authentic renditions of dances rarely seen, include beautiful flamenco choreography with special guest artists, and even revive classic work from the Guadalupe Dance Company’s acclaimed 25 year history.

Want to learn how to sing? Want to learn an instrument?
This summer marks the 4th Annual Mariachi Music Camp! The Guadalupe Cultural Art’s Center is looking for beginner youth that want to learn how to sing or play an instrument. (Violin, guitar, trumpet, etc.) The camp will be taught by members of San Antonio’s Mariachi Azteca de America! After a week with the instructors, the youth will hold a recital on August 9th. Classes will be held at the Guadalupe Cultural Art’s Center.
Students will need to provide lunch, but snacks will be provided!
