A South of France Soirée was Held at La Cantera Resort & Spa to Toast the Summer with Moët Ice Impérial
Moët & Chandon held a bubbly poolside brunch in San Antonio, Texas at La Cantera Resort & Spa hosted by Ari-Alvarez Tostado to celebrate the launch of the summer season with Moët Ice Impérial. And I was one lucky gal to be invited.
You couldn’t possibly ask for a more perfect spot to enjoy champagne by the pool than the La Cantera Resort & Spa. The resort is one of the premier resorts in San Antonio, inspired by its exquisite Texas rustic furnishing and friendly hospitality. This oasis in the hill country features amenities like five sparkling pools which includes an adult infinity pool with luxurious cabañas offering incredible views. It was here that this elaborate party was held.
Cabañas were furnished with lounge chairs clad with azul and white striped cushions and deep couches decorated with Moët & Chandon throw pillows ready for the St.Tropez Chic crowd to enjoy an afternoon by the pool. There was an abundance of swag like straw hats, sunglasses and hand-held fans to keep everyone feeling cool in the Texas heat.
And of course there was an ample supply of Moët Ice Impérial, both white and Rosé, to keep guests happy. Moët & Chandon was the first to respond to the unexpected ritual of serving champagne over ice, a drink known by jetsetters in the South of France as “La Piscine” or the swimming pool, with a champagne expression created specifically to be enjoyed over ice. I was told it must be poured over exactly three ice cubes!
A new champagne experience combining fun, fresh and free sensations while remaining true to the Moët & Chandon style, a style distinguished by its bright fruitiness, its seductive palate and its elegant maturity.
American Figure Skater Adam Rippon created a cocktail using Moët Ice Impérial which was also served at the brunch. I have included the recipe below so you can make it at home as well.
Adam Rippon Cocktail
3 oz Moët Ice Impérial
1 oz vodka
.5 oz St-Germain French elderflower liqueur
.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz simple syrup
6 Blueberries (for muddling)
Garnish: Blueberries, lavender
Directions: Muddle blueberries, add mixture (lemon juice, simple syrup, vodka, elderflower liqueur) to shaker tin. Shake vigorously, then strain into Wine glass with fresh ice cubes. Top with 3 oz of Moët Ice Impérial. Garnish with berries and lavender sprig.
Of course it can’t be a brunch without food and the resort provided a delicious variety of seafood and Tex-Mex dishes, blending cuisines from the Texas Hill Country and the coast of France, to add a scrumptious vibe to the party.
Moët & Chandon will be hosting a happy hour throughout the summer at La Cantera once a week from July 11th to August 8th, 7-9 p.m. Sip on summer-inspired cocktails over live music and unrivaled Hill Country views at this weekly pool party series.
