Still Golden Social House is Celebrating with a Grownup Birthday Bash
On Tuesday, March 5 Still Golden is hosting a one year birthday party at the bar that’ll be reminiscent of a kid’s first birthday party…if that kid was swilling gin from his bottle. Celebrate Mardi Gras and their birthday all in one place. Now that’s a bash!
Just as he puts one baby to bed, it’s time for San Antonio cocktail godfather Jeret Peña to throw a birthday party for another. On Monday Peña shut the doors of the original Brooklynite on Brooklyn Ave, and now one week later BK’s sister bar —Still Golden — is turning one year old. To celebrate this Golden girl the bar is hosting a blowout birthday bash complete with party decor, face painting, drink specials and noods and spring rolls from their Thai popup in the Pony Boy Food Truck.
Peña is a James Beard nominee and one of the masterminds behind the cocktail-forward Boulevardier Group in San Antonio. And he’ll be serving up Mardi Gras favorites like Sazerac cocktails, frozen hurricanes and a perfect Ramos Gin Fizz.
Peña is known for his unique concepts and solid bar programs, and later this spring he’ll launch the reimagined Brooklynite near the historic Pearl Brewery in San Antonio. Still Golden was received by the city with glowing praise, and the new Brooklynite is his chance at the upscale concierge cocktail concept that’s been brewing in his heart since his days at The Esquire Tavern.
