According to WalletHub.com, 60% Americans celebrate St. Paddy’s day and contributed to $5.9 Billion worth of sales in 2018 with most sales centering around beer & liquor sales.
Before getting into the Fighting Irish spirit, try thinking about tossing out the green beer & Guinness for a more tasteful Irish cocktail that will help you and your readers stay sane and nicely tipsy versus completely sloshed!

Below please find a few Irish cocktails from PROPER No. TWELVE Irish Whiskey & Kerrygold Irish Cream to kick-off any St. Paddy’s festivities!
Proper Irish Coffee
2 oz Proper No. Twelve Whiskey
4 oz hot coffee
.75 oz simple syrup
2-3 oz heavy cream
Directions:
- In a shaker or jar, shake or whip heavy cream until slightly thickened (not completely stiff)
- In a mug, add Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, hot coffee, and simple syrup
- Stir
- Carefully layer on top the thickened heavy cream until it covers the drink
- Optional grating of nutmeg on top
Dublin 12 Old Fashioned
2 oz Proper No. Twelve Whiskey
1 Bar Spoon Simple Syrup
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Lemon Wedge
Cherry
Directions
- In a lowball glass, add Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, simple syrup and bitters
- Add ice to the glass and stir together
- Garnish with lemon wedge & cherry
Proper Manhattan
2 oz Proper No. Twelve Whiskey
1 oz sweet vermouth
3 dashes angostura bitters
1 brandied cherry
Directions:
- Combine Proper No. Twelve Whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters into a mixing vessel
- Add ice and stir
- Strain into a coupe/martini glass
- Garnish with a cherry
Celtic Sipper
1.5 oz. Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur
2 oz. Zaya Gran Reserva
1.5 oz. Coconut Water
Shake cocktail and strain in a highball over ice. On a separate plate (or on the stove top) lightly toast some shredded coconut (or with a torch) and Sprinkle it on top of the drink.
Kerry’s Morning
1 oz. Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur
1.75 oz. Orange Infused Irish whiskey
.25 Demerara Syrup
2.5 oz. Strong Brewed Coffee
Shake all of the components and strain into a highball glass with ice. Garnish can be either chocolate shavings with orange zest, a chocolate dipped orange slice, or a fresh orange slice and square of chocolate!
Blended Blarney
1.5 oz. Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur
1.75 oz. Seagram’s Vodka
.5 oz. Honey Water
5-6 Slices of Banana
Pinch of Pink Sea Salt
Ice
