And what would Thanksgiving be without pie? Don’t forget the Pumpkin Pie—or Pecan, Apple or Sweet Potato Pie! If you end your meal with a slice of Peggy’s twist on a traditional Pumpkin Pie, your desert will be doing double-duty, thanks to Peggy’s Pie in the Sky campaign. Throughout November, for every slice purchased, Peggy’s will donate all of the proceeds to the Boerne Education Foundation.

Why wait until Thanksgiving? To take one of these special pies home—or give someone a sweet treat to say thank you, or to mark the holidays—call 210.254.3651. Each pie is $30, with $15 going to BEF. Pumpkin Pies are available through November 30th, then in December, you can enjoy Peggy’s Chess Pie. Pies will be ready 48 hours after the initial order. The pies may be picked up at Peggy’s on the Green 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

Boerne Education Foundation The Boerne Education Foundation (BEF) is a nonprofit whose mission is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education. BEF works closely with Boerne Independent School District (ISD)and its teachers to support areas where additional funding is needed or where innovative teaching tools can make a subject more meaningful to students. Funding touches every one of the 9,136 students and 606 teachers in the district’s 10 schools.

This year’s Pie in the Sky donation will benefit Boerne ISD’s Culinary Program, a full sequence of courses that students can take all four years of their high school education. Seniors in the program get real-life culinary experience in area restaurants, including Peggy’s on the Green. Six students rotate through practicum sites throughout the year as part of the capstone course to the culinary arts pathway.
