Start a New Thanksgiving Tradition – Gather at Peggy’s on the Green

Turkey and steaks? Start a new Thanksgiving tradition this year by enjoying a traditional or non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner worth sharing by celebrating at Peggy’s on the Green in Boerne.

Peggy’s on the Green grew from the seeds planted by a mother’s example long ago: celebrating meals around the table with family, neighbors and friends over from-scratch meals made with the freshest local bounty. There’s no better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than gathering together over a great meal and Peggy’s on the Green is perfect place to start a new tradition.

Mark Bohanan, chef-owner of Peggy’s on the Green, invites everyone to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd, at Peggy’s on the Green. Indulge in Peggy’s special à la carte Thanksgiving menu featuring turkey and ham, or give thanks over one of Peggy’s fantastic steaks. No matter what you choose, the meal will be one worth celebrating! Reservations can be made online at peggysonthegreen.com or by phone at 830.572.5000.

And what would Thanksgiving be without pie? Don’t forget the Pumpkin Pie—or Pecan, Apple or Sweet Potato Pie! If you end your meal with a slice of Peggy’s twist on a traditional Pumpkin Pie, your desert will be doing double-duty, thanks to Peggy’s Pie in the Sky campaign. Throughout November, for every slice purchased, Peggy’s will donate all of the proceeds to the Boerne Education Foundation.

Why wait until Thanksgiving? To take one of these special pies home—or give someone a sweet treat to say thank you, or to mark the holidays—call 210.254.3651. Each pie is $30, with $15 going to BEF. Pumpkin Pies are available through November 30th, then in December, you can enjoy Peggy’s Chess Pie. Pies will be ready 48 hours after the initial order. The pies may be picked up at Peggy’s on the Green 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

This year’s Pie in the Sky donation will benefit Boerne ISD’s Culinary Program, a full sequence of courses that students can take all four years of their high school education. Seniors in the program get real-life culinary experience in area restaurants, including Peggy’s on the Green. Six students rotate through practicum sites throughout the year as part of the capstone course to the culinary arts pathway.
