JD’s Chili Parlor Announces Grand Opening of Al Fresco Chili Stand
JD’s Chili Parlor grand opening and thanks giving is happening November 16th at the LocalSprout Food Hub on downtown’s eastside.
WHO: JD’s Chili Parlor is an artisan food company located at the Local Sprout Food Hub on San Antonio’s downtown eastside. These Professional Chili Designers are known at local artisan markets and special events, such as the Four Seasons Market and Fiesta, as the source for gourmet chili, BBQ and mac-n-cheese. They also offer catering for private events.
WHAT: JD’s Chili Parlor is excited to announce they now have a permanent al fresco chili stand at the LocalSprout Food Hub on the eastside of downtown, where folks can stop by for a quick, healthy and delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner (served all day from 11-6) or grab food to-go. This is the first chili stand to open since the famous Chili Queens ended their reign in San Antonio in the early 1940s, and JD’s intends to carry on the mission of community and incredible local food. “Everyone is welcome at the Parlor,” says Diana Anderson, Co-Owner.
JD’s menu is also available for delivery and to-go orders through Grubhub.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, JD’s Chili Parlor would like to invite the public to their “Grand Opening & Thanks Giving” party on November 16 to showcase some of their gourmet chili, live music and libations.
At the event, JD’s will be offering a 5-course Chili Tour, featuring some of their signature chilis, including:
– A seasonal Applewood Smoked, Apple Cider Turkey Chili
– Black Gold Garlic Chocolate Champagne Chili
– Angry Goat Chili
– Ranger Creek Love Struck Hefe Vegan Chili.
– Pecan-Smoked Whiskey Chili made with Ranger Creek’s .36 Bourbon & Parker Creek Ranch Grass-Fed Beef
Chili will be served in mini fresh-fried hash brown bowls, a one-of-a-kind creation of the masterminds and owners of JD’s Chili Parlor, Diana and John Anderson.
Chili-fied appetizers, including a mac-n-cheese brisket bite and hyper-local Pecan & Grapefruit Baby Kale Salad by LocalSprout are included with the ticket.
Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling will be sponsoring a variety of beer samples.
Additional offerings (not included in ticket price) include various gourmet coffees by Pulp Coffee and decadent boozy cakes for dessert by Deep River Specialty Foods, artisan food companies that are also home at the LocalSprout Food Hub.
