European Inspired Bistro, SoHill Cafe, Opened It’s Doors Nov 3rd.
European inspired, SoHill Cafe, located at 1719 Blanco Road, hosted its official grand opening on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 11am-10pm.
The modern, trendy designed property, once the location of the popular Casbeers Café and Cantina, has been undergoing construction for the past few months. The restaurant is nestled in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, an eclectic, burgeoning district in San Antonio. Owner, Jean-Francois Poujol hopes to make this café a greater part of the community.
SoHill Cafe is a space to enjoy quality meals in a comfortable, café setting. A unique wood-burning oven is used to make the specialty pizzas. The dough is a fermented dough, making SoHill one of only two restaurants in San Antonio using this process. Additional menu items will include homemade pasta dishes as well as fresh salads. To drink, guests can choose from beer, wine, Topo Chico, and other traditional non-alcoholic drinks.
Poujol is best known for his past endeavors Soleil Bistro & Wine Bar, Tost Bistro Bar, and Tribeca 212. His 25+ years experience in the food & beverage industry brings exceptional insight to both the operations and menu.
Chef Justin Limburg tactfully curated the menu of SoHill Cafe. He has been perfecting pizzas since 1999. He began his career working at Caioti Pizza Cafe, where he worked under Chef Ed Ladou, the creator of California Pizza Kitchen, and one of the innovators of California style cooking. He then transitioned to Wolf Gang Puck Bar & Grill in Los Angeles, CA, where he started as a pizza maker & worked his way up to Sous Chef. Now, as the Executive Chef of SoHill Cafe, he is excited to bring his culinary experience to Beacon Hill!
SoHill Cafe will be open Tuesday-Thursday from 11am-9pm, and Friday-Saturday from 11am-10pm. They are closed Sunday & Monday.
