I am a movie blogger, who usually doesn’t care much for the superhero movies. My grand kids love them however, so I have watched my share. VENOM had the usual villain, in this case a super rich genius, who wanted to establish a new super human species by using parasites he had brought back from a space mission to enter human bodies and make these humans better than they were. The best part of the movie to me was when the alien Venom entered journalist Eddie Brock’s body and Eddie was trying to find out what had happened to him. I mean throwing up fast food, going crazy with loud noises and having a voice in you head talking to you would make most people take notice. As the movie progressed, Eddie slowly came to terms with his dilemma and Venom starting taking charge of Eddie’s body and cracking jokes along the way. The worse part of the movie was the motorcycle chase scene which seemed to go on for hours. By the time it was over, I figured everyone in San Francisco had to have been dead or in the hospital. I did enjoy the movie, but I think it was Venom’s humor that saved the day for me.

Synopsis
One of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters takes center stage as Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) becomes the host for the alien symbiote Venom. As a journalist, Eddie has been trying to take down the notorious founder of the Life Foundation, genius Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) – and that obsession ruined his career and his relationship with his girlfriend, Anne Weying (Michelle Williams). Upon investigating one of Drake’s experiments, the alien Venom merges with Eddie’s body, and he suddenly has incredible new superpowers, as well as the chance to do just about whatever he wants. Twisted, dark, unpredictable, and fueled by rage, Venom leaves Eddie wrestling to control dangerous abilities that he also finds empowering and intoxicating. As Eddie and Venom need each other to get what they’re looking for, they become more and more intertwined — where does Eddie end and Venom begin?
