Food is the Hero at the New Bubba Gump Shrimp Co in San Antonio
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. captures the charm and American spirit that made the movie “Forrest Gump” a smash hit. Shrimp is the specialty here, but in its fun and casual setting, there is definitely something for everyone. Enjoy grilled and fried seafood platters, pastas, burgers, salads, award-winning Dixie-style baby back ribs, and signature hand shaken cocktails.
Shrimp is all over the menu at this new seafood house. You can start with the Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, step into the Mama Blue’s Shrimp Gumbo, have a Shrimp Po’Boy sandwich, or go dip into the Surf and Turf with Baby Back Ribs and Grilled Shrimp. According to Bubba Gump, that’s not overload, that’s just plain good eating.
If you happen to have your stretchy pants on, you might be looking at a bigger platter. You might want to opt for the Shrimper’s Heaven with shrimp done many ways. Or how about the “I’m Stuffed” Shrimp, which is what you’ll be, when you order these large shrimp with crab stuffing, baked in garlic butter, and Monterey jack cheese.
The Shrimp New Orleans is an authentic spicy recipe from their staff in the French Quarter with lots of tender Shrimp broiled with butter, garlic and spices. I say Mmmm mmmm! Or the absolutely yummy Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp which is hand dipped in flaky coconut and served with Cajun Marmalade.
These are only some of the many ways to eat shrimp at Bubbas. Now if you don’t like shrimp, they have other fish options for you. And if you don’t like seafood, you have options like Baby Back Ribs, a BBQ combo platter, steak, fried chicken, burgers and more. So not to worry that you can’t find something to your liking here.
And the drink selection is endless as well. They have many mixed cocktails (also non-alcoholic) served in glasses you can keep or specialty cocktails you are sure to like. There is also a good selection of draft beer, bottled beer and wine.
And for some fun, go into their shop for some fun memorabilia relating to the movie “Forrest Gump”. It’s good food, great cocktails and boat loads of fun at this River Walk shrimp restaurant.
