Great Hornitos Cocktails to Please the Hot or Sweet Palate on Tequila Day

This National Tequila Day, July 24, celebrate with great Hornitos cocktails made with a premium spirit that provides a smooth taste in each and every sip – Hornitos Tequila.

While we all love a good margarita, let’s go outside the box and try something else this National Tequila Day. Your readers will be raving about Hornitos’ Spicy Paloma with muddled jalapenos for an added kick and Tequila Bee’s Knees sweetened with fresh honey and cranberry. These cocktails are perfect to enjoy at the bar or in the comfort of your own home.

Spicy Paloma

Great Hornitos Cocktails

  • 1 ½ parts Hornitos® Black Barrel® Tequila
  • ¾ part fresh ruby red grapefruit juice
  • ¾ part fresh lime juice
  • ½ part agave syrup
  • Jalapeño
  • Grapefruit

Preparation: Lightly muddle ¼ grapefruit and 4 slices jalapeño in a shaker. Combine remainder of ingredients into the shaker over ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.

Hornitos Black Barrel

Our most highly awarded tequila, Hornitos® Black Barrel®, starts as a premium, aged Añejo, then spends four months in deep charred oak whiskey barrels to give it rich, smoky flavor and a golden amber color. It spends an additional two months in specially toasted barrels for more depth and distinct complexity.

Tequila Bee’s Knees

Great Hornitos Cocktails

  • 1 ½ parts Hornitos® Reposado Tequila
  • ¾ part fresh lemon juice
  • ½ part fresh cranberry juice
  • ½ part honey
  • Maraschino cherry
  • Lemon twist

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry and a lemon twist.

Hornitos Reposado Tequila

Boldly born in 1950, to celebrate the anniversary of Mexican independence, Hornitos® debuted as a Reposado, one of the first of its kind. We made Reposado decades before it became common practice, and to this day, it remains a symbol of our shot taking spirit.
