Join South Texas native Adrian Davila chef, restaurateur, and author who will be hosting a book signing for his brand new cookbook, “Cowboy Barbecue: Fire & Smoke from the Original Texas Vaqueros”, on Saturday June 23rd at Barnes & Noble, located at 321 NW Loop 410 Suite #104.


In Cowboy Barbecue, third generation pitmaster Davila celebrates the traditions of Latin America and Texas, taking inspiration from the vaquero lifestyle and his own family history featuring 75 recipes from a master of true Texas barbecue. During the book signing, Davila’s food truck will also be on site serving a bounty of barbecue that is featured in the book. With your book purchase, you’ll receive a free order of three mini brisket tacos, and have your name submitted for raffle items. Come “meat” the author, grab a signed copy of the book, and join in on the fun!

About Adrian: Adrian Davila is a third-generation barbecue restaurateur, chef and pit master at the acclaimed Davila’s BBQ in Seguin, TX. His grandfather, Raul Davila, opened Davila’s in 1959, more than a half century ago, and passed on the secrets of his smoked BBQ to Adrian’s father, Edward Davila. The Davilas are deeply proud of their Mexican-American roots and their family tradition of creating the best barbecue in Texas.


Adrian credits his grandfather and father with teaching him the value of hard work. Most of his youth was spent in the kitchens of the restaurant, learning all of the special techniques until he could prepare everything on the menu to perfection. Adrian still practices those skills today and has since created his own unique barbecue recipes for the restaurant as well as the family’s extensive catering business. He continues to expand his culinary knowledge and skills through research and travel, most recently throughout Europe, with a special stop in the city from which his family once hailed, Avila, Spain.

At Davila’s BBQ, Adrian serves as the restaurant spokesperson and has appeared on KSAT 12’s SA Live, WOAI News 4’s San Antonio Living and KENS-5’s Great Day SA, as well as the national Food Republic podcast. Along with the restaurant, Adrian was featured in a video series for Texas Monthly. He was featured as a judge on the Travel Channel’s show American Grilled, as a contestant (and first-place winner) on the Food Network show BBQ Blitz “Texas Takedown,” as a guest chef on the Food Network’s The Kitchen and as a judge on the Food Network’s BBQ Kids Champion. Adrian also is frequently featured in publications, including the San Antonio Express-News, MySA, SanAntonio Edible Magazine and the Seguin “Sizzle” Gazette.


Going forward, it is important to Adrian and his family that Davila’s BBQ continues to grow in the hearts of their customers, throughout the heart of Texas and beyond.
