Art in the Garden Program Features a New Exhibit, The Art of Being

Art in the Garden Exhibit: The Art of Being will be Featured at the San Antonio Botanical Garden

San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Art in the Garden program features a new exhibit, The Art of Being, by Rodrigo Garagarza (Mexico). The opening free reception is February 15, 2018 at 5:30pm-7pm and is open to the public. This exhibit is in collaboration with Gomez Vazquez International and Art Legacy TX and is made possible in part by a grant from the Russell Hill Rogers Fund for Arts.

The Art of Being features five metal sculptures from Garagarza’s series, La Matatena (Jacks), inspired by the traditional children’s game. Garagarza’s botanical inspiration and his passion for sculpture and architecture merge with his mastery of geometry. These vibrant, whimsical, and larger-than-life sculptures will be on view throughout the Garden from February 15 – August 12, 2018. The exhibition is curated by Adriana Cisneros of Art Legacy TX.
