Celebrating a Holiday at Michin Kitchen with a Twist on the Traditional Pan de Muerto

Michin Grill Kitchen & Tequila Bar is celebrating a holiday with a new twist on Pan de Muerto dessert available only during Dia De Los Muertos from November 1st – 5th.

Stone Oak’s MichinGrill Kitchen & Tequila Bar, located at 427 North Loop 1604 W. #202, is celebrating Dia de los Muertos from November 1st through November 5th with a delectable twist on the traditional pan de muerto dessert.

Dia de los Muertos is a spiritual holiday for the citizens of Mexico as they honor those that have passed and celebrate the lives they had on Earth. Traditional practices of Dia de los Muertos includes creating an alter for the deceased relative and providing their favorite food and drink so that they may enjoy it in the afterlife. This is an important festival in the Mexican Culture as it brings family and friends together to enjoy the past, present, and future.

Celebrating a Holiday

Another food tradition of Dia de los Muertos is the eating and sharing of Pan de Muertos. The Pan de Muerto is usually decorated with bone shaped pieces to represent those who have passed. At times a calavera, or sugar skull, will accompany the Pan de Muerto. The sugar skull is strongly associated with the image of Dia de los Muertos.

At Michin Grill Kitchen & Tequila Bar, they will keep tradition and offer Pan de Muerto with their own little twist. The pan will be topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with cajeta, a Mexican caramel sauce made from goats milk, and topped with almonds. This delicious dessert will be available for $4.00 from November 1st through November 5th.
