Sangria on the Burg Celebrates Culinaria with Toatadas, Fideo and Chocolate Tres Leches
Located in the Medical Center area of Northwest San Antonio, Sangria on the Burg is known for its Texas BBQ, smoked meats and Mexican spices. Oh, and for its fruity Sangria and craft cocktails.
The restaurant is serving a Culinaria Menu for both lunch and dinner during restaurant week this year.
Since I work just across Fredericksbury Rd. from the restaurant, I wanted to stop by today to see what was on the Culinaria Restaurant Week lunch menu. Of course I knew it would be something good, as every time I have eaten here, I haven’t been disappointed.
While waiting for our food, owner/Caesar sent out a couple of orders of his special queso with creamy cheese, chili, beans and guacamole surrounded by fresh, light multi- colored chips as an appetizer.
The three course lunch menu consisted of:
Choice of Starter
Fideo of the Day, a house-made broth, peppers, onions and vermicelli noodles
House Salad, field greens, agave lime vinaigrette, strawberry, cheddar and pepitas
Brisket Enchiladas, corn tortillas filled with smoked brisket topped with red Jalapeno salsa over fried corn white rice with a side of black beans
Fish Toatada, grilled fresh catch on a crisp tostada with black bean puree, cabbage slaw, crema, roasted salsa and queso fresco
Chocolate Tres leches, sweetened milk soaked chocolate cake with whipped cream, raspberries and candied almonds.
This three course meal is offered for only $15 and with each meal ordered, the restaurant will donate $1 for lunch to Culinaria and the programs it supports.
Sangria on the Burg is also doing a separate three course dinner menu for only $35. If you plan to do lunch here and don’t want to wait, go early or do a late lunch as this place is a local favorite and fills up quickly. Also be aware that parking is limited!
